FertiliTEA TTC Blend - Ovulation Promoting Conception Tea
This particular blend offers a host of fertility-boosting benefits. This blend is suitable for those suffering from PCOS, Endometriosis, Irregular Menstrual Cycles, and/or Amenorrhea (no menstrual cycle). Each herb has a particular benefit in this handcrafted blend.
Spearmint: Spearmint tea is a great herbal tea for PCOS, particularly for those dealing with elevated testosterone levels and associated symptoms like hirsutism, or unwanted hair growth on the face or body. Studies show that spearmint tea helps to decrease free testosterone levels and increase luteinizing hormone (LH), follicular stimulating hormone, and estradiol in those with PCOS. Due to spearmint tea’s ability to inhibit testosterone, it can help to restore follicular development in the ovarian tissue and promote ovulation. If you struggle with elevated testosterone, hirsutism, or trouble ovulating spearmint tea can be a great addition as an herbal tea for PCOS.
Nettle: Also known as stinging nettle, is another great herbal fertility tea for PCOS sufferers. Nettle has anti-inflammatory, testosterone lowering, and blood sugar lowering effects. A study on 40 women with elevated androgen levels found a significant decrease in total testosterone and free testosterone levels. Due to its testosterone lowering effects nettle can help with symptoms associated with elevated androgens like hair loss, acne, and hirsutism.
Chasteberry: Vitex agnus castus, commonly known as Chasteberry, is the herb many women reach for at the first sign of gynecological troubles. Vitex has been used medicinally for several centuries to relieve the symptoms of PMS, to restore regularity to the menstrual cycle, and to balance the hormones that impact reproductive health and fertility. Vitex is believed to work by acting on the hypothalamus and pituitary gland, both of which secrete hormones or send signals to other parts of the body to trigger the production of reproductive hormones. Vitex has been shown to help increase the level of luteinizing hormone (LH) while gently suppressing the secretion of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH). Vitex is also believed to maintain healthy progesterone levels, which is especially important following ovulation - or during the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle. Vitex's impact on progesterone may help lengthen the luteal phase for women who experience a luteal phase that is too short. A short luteal phase, referred to as luteal phase defect, can be a reason women have difficulty conceiving and/or maintaining a pregnancy.
Red Raspberry Leaf: Championed as the "Women's Herb" since the late 1500s, is recommended for all things female, from period cramps to morning sickness during pregnancy. It is highly regarded for its ability to tone the uterus and the muscles of the pelvic region, which is helpful in preparation for pregnancy and childbirth. Red Raspberry Leaf's ability to act as a uterine tonic is attributed to its astringent (meaning, to cause contraction) activity, as well as the presence of the alkaloid fragarine in the plant, an active compound that helps to both relax tense muscles and to tighten muscles that are too lax. The tannins in Red Raspberry Leaf give it a taste similar to black tea (minus the caffeine!), and, along with flavonoids in the plant, provide antioxidant support. Also, Red Raspberry Leaf is naturally high in several vitamins and minerals, including Vitamins A, C, E, the family of B vitamins, magnesium, potassium, and iron, which are all nutrients that you need onboard to support a healthy pregnancy.
Moringa: Moringa leaves and seeds are excellent sources of antioxidants, which may help combat oxidative damage that can interfere with sperm production or damage sperm DNA. Also known as the miracle tree, Moringa leaf has multiple health benefits, including enhancing fertility in both women and men because of its high vitamins content (A, C, B, E, K), minerals (Calcium, potassium, iron, manganese), proteins, amino acids and its detoxifying action on the body.
Black Cohosh: The effect of black cohosh on LH and the LH/FSH ratio indicates that black cohosh induces the hypothalamus to reduce the release of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH). A reduction in LH in women with PCOS is associated with better ovulation and implantation rates. Black Cohosh also increases the effectiveness of Clomid.
Green Tea: Green tea polyphenols (GrTPs) have been reported to possess properties that may increase the quality of male and female gametes, mostly via the capability of catechins to reduce ROS production. GrTPs have antioxidant properties that improve major semen parameters, such as sperm concentration, motility, morphology, DNA damage, fertility rate, and gamete quality. These unique properties of green tea catechins could improve reproductive health.
